Procrastination WTF

“Only put off until tomorrow what you are willing to die having left undone” ~ Pablo Picasso

Harsh enough words for you? But that essentially is it! We somehow can find a plethora of excuses to delay putting into action things that will improve our lives, change our outcomes for the better, and bring good to the world.  For many of us procrastination might as well be our middle name ~ there is a list of opportunities in front of us that, with a little effort, if we put in motion, would change the score, generate positive momentum, and ultimately deliver us from evil.  However, we simply choose the lazy alternative to ignore the obvious and do what we have always done – nothing!

To emphasize this point, we spoke with someone a short while back.  After the customary greetings our conversation changed to the state of the economy and specifically the economy in the area the person was in.  He emphasized to us the need to make some money and was willing to look at an opportunity that makes sense.  Before describing the opportunity he told us that he was humble and was always willing to learn.  However, when the conversation evolved around what the person needed to do to be successful the feedback was; “I don’t like to work directly myself, I want others to do the work for me!” The humble part it turns out was simply a branding event and the rest, in fact, okay as long as he did not have to get off his ass.  This person is really not that different however from the majority of the population out there.

It appears to come down to a psychological impairment, or more aptly a lifetime of telling ourselves that there is safety in quiet mediocrity. Somehow we are able to convince ourselves (or at least we have become creatures of banal habit) that not rising to the occasion is okay.  Okay for us, okay for the others in our lives and okay for the world.  Content, it appears, to deny the world with any chance to tap into our greatness.

Why then do we continue to put the things off we know we could do to change our lives for the better day after day, year after year?  Why are we afraid to step into a world of unlimited potential and endless possibilities?  Has our humanness become the bane of our existence? We don’t do things simply because we can choose not to?

Let’s look at another species, say insects, the wonderful ant does not have the option of not pursuing the fallen chunk of bread.  Her sense of smell alerts her that food is at hand and she is driven to find it, collect it and trudge it home.  We humans however, appear to have lost this drive.  We are presented with a version of fallen bread, can see the benefit of pursuing it, we even can analyze the 27 benefits it might bring to us and the people in our lives, however, we simply choose to let it pass.  It’s too darn easy to wait for the crumbs to fall off our neighbours plate or to be handed out on the street corner.  The problem is our neighhbours are getting ornery and the free giveaways are being saved for the truly needy.  Eventually everyone of us will have to get up off the couch and deliver some bacon of our own.

With this reality upon us, many of us continue to pretend that nothing has changed, and most importantly that nothing will change for us.  Are we that ignorant, are we that stupid, or have we simply reconciled ourselves to a slow death with our head firmly buried in the sand.

Yet another example is a lady who is living with an income that does not provide her with any additional money to spend or more importantly save for a rainy day.  Instead of capitalizing on an opportunity she decides to procrastinate and as all victims do, make excuses about taking control of her life.  When asked where would she be in 3 years financially if nothing changed, she admitted in the same position she was when the question was asked. 18 months down the road this lady has not moved on changing anything in her life and as such is doing the same thing over and over again until she cannot do it anymore.  Then what?

Also, a gentlemen, who is introduced to an opportunity to move out of his job and produce a different life simply states “I just don’t have it in me!” REALLY?

There is another option.  One that has been in front of us since the day we were born ~ it’s called taking matters into our own hands, stepping into our power and doing something on our own.  If you are ready for this, choose to get off your ass and take action.  It’s that simple!

Your Legacy Starts Now!

Yes indeed, your legacy starts now!

Some might say ‘it’s never too late to build the life you want’. However, for most of us, we get caught up in the drama of our lives and have difficulty seeing any way out of our current life choice or financial status. The problem with this mentality is that lays the burden of this reality outside of our self; it’s someone else’s fault, I was born on the wrong side of the tracks, the government’s to blame, the weather isn’t quite right, or my parents never gave me anything. Nothing more than excuses for why our life has turned out the way it has. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

As the great American business philosopher Jim Rohn contemplated when he posed the question, “How come you haven’t done well up until now?” Rohn suggested for 95 percent of us, the answer to that question is filled with excuses much like those mentioned above. AND, he says, the big problem with this list of excuses is YOU’RE NOT ON IT.

We can change our lives, everything really; financial status, relationships, and health, if we make the choice to take full responsibility for what is happening to us.

“It’s not what happens that determines the quality or quality of your life, but rather it’s what you do that changes everything!” ~ Jim Rohn

Rohn asks us to consider the following question: Starting tomorrow what are you going to DO that will make a change in your life’s direction!

If you don’t do something tomorrow that will make a difference – it will be the same!

Avoid giving money to the government

The question is WHY?

Did you know, every household, in Canada and the United States has the ability to claim back no less than $3600 up to $8000 per year, outside of their registered plans.

How is this possible?

Simple, they are missing one of the best tax write-offs for average everyday families by not having a real home-based business.  The Home Based Business Tax Advantages are available for anyone running a real business out of their home.

What do Donald Trump, Robert Kiyosaki and Warren Buffet have to say about home based business?

Consider this brief audio clip Significant Home Based Tax Write Off

Both the Canadian CRA and the US IRS provide these benefits for people who are willing to run their own home based business.

For example, you can annually write off expenses such as:

  • Part of your mortgage, rent  as it relates to square footage of business use
  •  Computer, monitor, software
  • Telephone and services
  • Heat, Hydro
  • Portion of home Insurance
  • Car – gas  – insurance
  • All business expenses that include promotional or operational expenses
  • More

Happy money

It is a small wonder why people do not take advantage of this.  In reality, if there is no financial risk as tax write offs offset a business owners cost, then what is stopping them?  Most people when they find out about this look for ways to make more money to pay for extra vacations, retirement or even child education.  After all, schools are expensive, good schools are even more expensive.  The choice is yours.

“The attitude of the mind necessarily depends upon what we think. Therefore, the secret of all power, all achievement and all possession depends upon our method of thinking.” – MKMMA 2013

We marvel at the achievements of people who do extra ordinary feats of prowess or, against all odds, find the strength and will to succeed.  Admit it, you like the hero in the story, just like we do!  So what is it that separates people that want to change,  to make a change in their life; and people who should make a change, but won’t?

Our first area of focus will be who are we making a change for?  Is our desire is to do something significant – for family – loved ones – those who look up to us, or is it more personal about our individual dreams and goals?  Whatever you may believe, the key reason people fail to act is not about cause but about how we think.

From childhood, we are programmed by people and institutions that tell us how to think.  Don’t do this – you can’t do that – that will not work – etc., etc..  There are many video vignettes from TED on programming and when this programming is changed, the end result is nothing short of inspiring.

Here in lies the lesson for all of us and our second area of focus.  If the attitude of our mind is conditioned by how we think and the method by which we assimilate information, then the obvious conclusion is … change the channel.  Yes, that is right; change the programming going in, and as a result, what eventually comes out, is a new subconscious blueprint that is not conditioned by the old self, but is in fact, a new plan which inspires the participant to go beyond what even they imagined. Think about this!  What are you doing to produce change?  If the answer is nothing… then the reality will be, nothing changes.  If you are in a dead end job, low income job or even if you are knocking the ball out of the park, but know you need to change, then… change the channel.

Have you ever asked yourself the question – Is this all there is?  There has to be more to life than this!  Most people at some time in their life ask the questions, “What do I want more of in my life and what do I want less of?”.  99.9% want more freedom, money, health and less stress and taxes.

If your questions are similar, then maybe it is time to change.  We have an answer but you have to take the first step.  Call us at 1.800.218.8941
